There likely will come a time when you will need your garage door or opener installed or repaired. When that rare occasion comes up do you have a company in mind you would trust to do the job?
You could turn to a company I trust: A Plus Garage Doors. I trust them because we have investigated the way they treat their customers, and the way they operate their business. As a result, I am proud to endorse A Plus Garage Doors, and declare the company Gephardt Approved.
One of the first things I noticed after our investigation was the financial solvency of A Plus Garage Doors: According to Dunn and Bradstreet, they have zero debt, and they always pay their bills on time. What that means to consumers is the company will likely be around a long time, so the warranties and continued service the company promises will be kept.
“Those companies who carry a debt give our industry a bad name,” says co-owner and manager Ryan Humphreys. “Our customers never have to worry whether or not we’ll be around in the future. We will be here to service what we install and honor all our warranties.”
“You do what you say you’re going to do. – Ryan Humphreys, co-owner
Ryan told me he started A Plus Garage Doors after he worked for another garage door company, and found he was taking care of customers, while his company owner was rather indifferent. “I found I was building up the reputation for another who didn’t even care about his own reputation. For me, I want return customers, and I want customers to refer me to other customers. That’s how you build a business. You do what you say you’re going to do. Eventually, I want to be known as the best in the state for service, quality and reliability. I know, everyone can say that, but it’s why we’re successful.”
Indeed, A Plus Garage Doors has grown every year since it was founded in 2005.
“Honesty is huge with me. You do what you say you’re going to do. I won’t allow frustration and lousy customer service for any of my customers. And, I won’t sleep until all customer issues are taken care of. I will build a relationship with people. Customer satisfaction is huge with me.”
Specifically, Ryan says he made some changes when he started his business. “We make appointments, and always call 15 minutes before we show up,” Ryan told me. “I learned from my own experience. There’s nothing worse than someone calling you after they’re supposed to show up to tell you they’re late.”
“If something is wrong, I will answer the phone 24/7.” – Ryan Humphreys
When it comes to customer service, Ryan says he will always answer the phone. “If something is wrong, I will answer the phone 24/7. Serious problems are fixed the same day, no matter what day it is.” In fact, Ryan says, any problems that come up, no matter how small, wind up a priority over new business. “We call employees in if we have to.”
That’s true, says his wife and partner Carrie Kelsch-Humphreys. “He’s popped out of bed, or left the dinner table when something is wrong to make it right.”
Partner Parker Kelsch reflects the whole company philosophy. “The key is to do it right the first time so everyone is happy,” says Parker. “There has never been a situation I have not been able to fix for a customer. Customers simply don’t have to worry about any work that we do.”
In terms of product, Ryan says he will install any garage door and opener a customer wants in any price range. “But, 85 per cent of our business is from people who want top quality.”
“Honesty is huge with me,” says Ryan. “You do what you say you’re going to do. People don’t know who to trust, they don’t know who to go to. I just need to show people they will get what they pay for. Service, service, service! I don’t like the run-around myself. I won’t allow frustration and lousy customer service for any of my customers. And, I won’t sleep until all customer issues are taken care of. I will build a relationship with people. Customer satisfaction is huge with me.”
In my investigation of A Plus Garage Doors, I found everything that Ryan, Carrie, and Parker say to be true: I can find absolutely no outstanding complaints against the company.
So, there you go. Now you know about my investigation into the company, and you know my conversation with company officials backed up what I found. That’s why I trust A Plus Garage Doors and why I am proud to endorse the company as Gephardt Approved.
