Have you ever heard of a used car dealer which has been in business for 30 years? I find it rare. CU AUTO SALES has been in business that long for a reason: their business model. I’ll get to that in a moment. But, if you’re looking for a pre-owned vehicle, you can turn to a company I trust, and that’s CU AUTO SALES.
I trust this company because we have investigated their history, licensing, and their customer service. Further, CU AUTO SALES has agreed to follow the Gephardt Approved Auto Dealers Code of Ethics, which goes above and beyond state and federal laws in the treatment of customers. As a result, I trust and endorse CU AUTO SALES, and I’m proud to declare them GEPHARDT APPROVED.
Owner Mike Hanson says he founded the business offering an uncomplicated process to car buying, and that’s his business model. “It’s one price, no hassle, no haggle,” says Mike. He calls it a “one priced dealership,” meaning the price on the car is the price you pay.
Mike says that business philosophy is well received by his customers. In fact, he says many customers have come back for their 15th or 20th car. He told me one customer even broke the 30th car purchased from CU AUTO SALES on the same lot in Salt Lake City at 41st South and State Street. “Many customers have experienced the pressure of a car salesman who can’t wait to pounce on you when you go to the showroom. We don’t abide by that at all. You are in control of the transaction.”
“…one simple reason: Trust…” – Trevor Hanson, customer.
Trevor Hanson has nothing but praise for the company: “I’ve purchased several cars at CU Auto Sales, all for one simple reason: Trust. Many fear car dealerships because of the lack of trust and the overall feeling of someone forcing you into a car you don’t need. That just doesn’t happen at CU Auto Sales.”
Mike tells us that CU AUTO SALES opened for business in 1986 as a collaboration with Utah Credit Unions looking for a trustworthy vendor for reliable pre-owned automobiles. He says that they’ve been serving Utah credit union members for over 26 years and like to think of themselves as “Your Credit Union Connection.” In fact, Mike says the “CU” actually stands for Credit Unions, but it’s pronounced “Q Auto Sales.” It’s an easy way to remember this company as customers and staff members like to say, “See you at the Q!”
As far as the cars are concerned, Mike says they focus on finding late-model, Certified Inspected, Pre-Owned vehicles, most of which still carry the remainder of the original factory warranty. He says every car on his lot is carefully inspected. Any defects are repaired in his shop so his sales staff knows precisely what they’re selling.
So there you go: CU AUTO SALES. Now you know what I know about their history, licensing, and the way they treat their customers.
